class levels
This is just to give a general guide. If you're not sure about whether a class is right for you please come and talk to David, or phone/email to ask any questions.
Beginner - these classes are designed for complete beginners who have never done any lindyhop before. They are also useful as a refresher for those who've done some already.
Improver - these follow on from the beginners course. They don't introduce a few new moves, but mainly they concentrate on building confidence and getting good technique on the basics. There's lots of individual feedback to help get your basics to a good level.
Intermediate - these classes assume that people are reasonably comfortable with the basic moves, and although they may often start with a review of the basics then they will move on fairly quickly. They will introduce more variations, or concentrate on more subtle/advanced points of technique, or use much faster music. Classes at this level will also introduce other dances such as Balboa or Tap.
Advanced - these will be more challenging classes and will often concentrate on more difficult points of technique.
All levels (partner dancing) - these classes will be suitable for everyone unless they say otherwise (usually not suitable for absolute beginners) and they will be pitched to have something for all the levels there from improver to advanced.
All levels (strolls/solo dances) - these classes will usually say 'not for beginners', but if you have experience in a different dance background you should be fine. If you've never done any form of dance at all, they will probably be too difficult.
