Shared tickets: all tickets are for one person only and cannot be split or shared between people. All entry requires a wristband.

    Teachers & class levels

Partner track   - Ben & Michaela, Rob & Tina, Louis (African dance), plus guests
Balboa track - Mel & Jo
Solo Jazz track - Robyn Larsen
Aerials track    - Andy & Lindsay

We like an inclusive event with everyone dancing together, so all classes are mixed level. The teachers are prepared for this and will give extra learning points & tips in class for more advanced dancers.

Minimum levels to participate in each track:
Aerials - you are confident social dancing, but you don't need to have done any aerials before. You must sign up with a fixed partner (no rotation in class).
Partner - you are confident social dancing
African - no experience needed, this is an optional part of the partner track
Balboa - you are confident social dancing whole songs of Balboa basics and some variations
Solo - you will already know some vintage solo jazz, e.g. Shim Sham or Tranky Doo. We will assume most people have done some solo jazz performance before, but it's not required.

A fully detailed programme will be sent to all attendees.

NB This venue is outside the city centre and not easily accessible by public transport. We will arrange coaches that you can book in advance from/to Bristol Harbourside area (not included) in your pass, or you can arrange your own lift/taxi shares.

    Tues 1st Jan
10am-1pm We have a cafe booked with a special dancers menu, we'll email you details of how to book.

You'll be able to walk easily to all venues from the city centre, except for NYE (see below). Bristol's also a pretty cycle-friendly city, so bring your bike or hire one.

Parking in the city centre is expensive and charges often apply until midnight. The information for participants nearer the time will include tips on parking for each venue.

Bristol Airport has regular buses in to the city centre. National Express coaches come to the bus station, and Megabus coaches come to Colston Hall, both very central. If you're coming by train, make sure to come to Bristol Temple Meads (close to the city centre), not Bristol Parkway.

For NYE, we will arrange some transport booked and paid in advance to/from the Harbouside area. We'd reccomend you don't try to get a last minute taxi on NYE. We will send info on how to book the transport in November.

All events (except NYE night) are in or near the city centre/harbourside area, so we'd suggest looking for accommodation within easy reach of there.

    here are several hostels:

We've had some particularly good reports back from people who've stayed at the YHA in the past, also for a guesthouse near the partner classes:
Avonside Guest House, 106 Coronation Road, BS3 1AX. Contact Alison on 0117 9664544 or

We'll set up a separate facebook event for accomodation: people's suggestions or offers/requests for shares on hotels or rentals such as Air BnB.

We aren't going to arranging any hosting this year. We love hosting and the Bristol community is very welcoming, but most of the hosting spaces in Bristol (around 75%) are offered by local dancers directly so we've found that we can't get anywhere near meeting requests. But while we try to organise it, people put off booking accommodation and then may end up paying more.

So, the festival isn't offering hosting, but many of our local dancers will be. We'll set up a separate facebook event for accomodation where you can post hosting requests & offers, and also accomodation shares.
